New daily persistent headache (NDPH) is under-recognised in the community. Early diagnosis and a multidisciplinary approach to management can help patients understand the condition and strengthen the therapeutic relationship.
Although pharmacotherapies are the cornerstone of managing advanced cancer pain, other biological and nonpharmacological therapies can be used in conjunction to further relieve pain.
The term ‘nociplastic pain’ has been introduced as the third mechanistic descriptor for the somatic component of pain. This article defines this new term and explains the significance of its introduction.
